About Dr. Denis Harris

Dr. Denis Harris, M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with over 45 years of clinical experience, based in Washington, DC. He earned his B.S. in Biochemistry and his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, completed an internship at Northwestern University Medical Center, and pursued both general surgery and orthopaedic surgical residencies at George Washington University. His primary clinical affiliation is Sibley Memorial Hospital / Johns Hopkins Medicine, where he has practiced since 1979. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Harris has maintained private practices in both Los Angeles and Washington, DC, with affiliations at Georgetown University Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles Children's Hospital, and the University of Southern California Hospital. He has held faculty appointments at Georgetown University Medical School and the University of Southern California Medical School, and served as an Orthopaedic Resident Instructor at George Washington University from 1999 to 2016. Dr. Harris has been widely recognized for excellence in orthopaedic surgery, receiving honors including the Sibley Chair at Johns Hopkins Hospitals, the Theobald Smith Award for Original Research, and repeated recognition from Castle Connolly, U.S. News & World Report, Washingtonian, and Health Grades. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Clinico Pathologic Society.
